Decision Fatigue

Since the day I decided I was going to participate in WeblogPoMo2024, I've kept an ongoing list of things I want to write and talk about. Every time I think of a could be topic, I add it to my list, no matter the likelihood of me actually writing about it. At some point, I even tried to organize it based on which one I thought I'd write and post first.

As the days went on, the number of my could be posts also grew. I have a total of 26 topics listed so far, and only 2 that I've successfully used and posted.

The problem isn't what to write about, but it's about choosing which one. There are so many to choose from, I get overwhelmed, and don't want to write about any of them. Sometimes I wonder if it might have been better to not add them to my "potential post list," as it would probably have increased the chances of my posting it as a topic.

It's almost like opening up my fridge full of food after grocery shopping, but then thinking there's absolutely nothing to eat... so then we end up going out to pick up food.

I don't know why, but this decision fatigue is very real to me right now... and so this is the post you get for today, until I can figure out what to write about for tomorrow.

Side Note(s):

  • This post is Day 14 of the WeblogPoMo2024 challenge.
  • Maybe I will just close my eyes and point to a random place to see what I land on, and that’s what I’ll write about tomorrow. We’ll see.
